The Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) New England Region, is hosting an educational event, “Demystifying the Adaptations of Design-Build,” on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the University of Hartford, Shaw Center in West Hartford. Event sponsors include S/L/A/M Construction Services, SMRT Inc., B2Q, and Michael Wilson Digital Strategist.
Eugene Torone, President of S/L/A/M Construction Services will explore current experimentation within the design-build vertical construction industry using case studies from University of Hartford projects. S/L/A/M Construction Services will share their 19 years of experience in the Connecticut design-build market, as an integrated design-build firm with a strong emphasis in architecture. University of Hartford team members and design-team members from The S/L/A/M Collaborative will participate in the Q&A portion of the presentation.
“We were excited when DBIA New England approached us about participating in an event,” said Torone. “With a growing number of design-build delivery methods, we hope to help dispel confusion and bring clarity to the available delivery options. We look forward to this event and to advancing the DBIA’s mission of educating owners, designers and construction practitioners on the effective integration of design and construction services."
Executive Council President and Board Chairman of DBIA New England, Rod Shaffert, spoke to the importance of this event stating, “We work hard in the New England region to create an environment that supports the design-build process and encourages new industry involvement.”
Owners, contractors, designers, students and faculty are encouraged to attend. To sign up for the event, visit the DBIA New England website at dbiane.org or email email@example.com.
