S/L/A/M Construction Services (SLAM CS) was recently awarded a STEP (Safety Training Evaluation Process) Gold Award for 2016 from the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) for their safety program.
ABC’s national STEP program recognizes the efforts of ABC members who strive to achieve effective safety practices and provides contractors with a tool to objectively evaluate their safety programs, policies, procedures and training. STEP aims at improving safety performance and reducing job site incidence rates. This safety benchmarking and improvement tool rates participants in 20 safety program components including pre-planning for job site safety, employee participation, inspections, record keeping and substance abuse program. Based on their score, firms receive a recognition level of: participant, silver, gold, platinum, and diamond--the highest honor.
“We are thrilled to be recognized for our dedication to the safe execution of all of our projects,” said Eugene Torone, president of S/L/A/M Construction Services. “We strive every day to create the proper working environment for our on- site staff and workers but it takes the leadership, dedication and commitment of our entire construction team to achieve this goal; for that, we are proud of our accomplishment.”
All 2016 Connecticut Chapter STEP award participants will be listed on the ABC’s Connecticut Chapter here: http://www.ctabc.org/Safety/STEPSafetyTrainingandEvaluationProcess.aspx.
