This open position presents an opportunity to join the LA office of SLAM, a growing national firm of 250+ employees with offices in Los Angeles, Denver, Iowa City, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Orlando, Boston, & headquarters in CT. This position represents a ground up opportunity for the right candidate to grow substantially with the firm, helping to establish and build an interior design practice in the LA office.
Overview of Job Description:
- Experience with all aspects of Interior design, including programming, planning, design development construction documents, ff&e, presentation materials and overall project execution
- Demonstrated understanding of the architectural design process and integration of interior design
- Good interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, able to work independently and as part of an effective team
- Organized, highly motivated, and detail orientated
- Management of project budgets, schedules, consultants, staffing, resources and general business practices
- 8+ years of experience working as an interior designer
- Corporate & Healthcare design experience
- Ability to direct, organize and mentor junior staff with oversight of their activities
- Ability to lead clients and project teams from initial concept through construction completion
- Contribute to the growth, development and success of the LA office
- NCIDQ Certified Interior Designer
- Experience with REVIT
Business Development
- Lead and/or contribute to proposal development
- Work with LA office leads to identify and pursue Interiors/Corporate Market prospective clients and opportunities
- Participate in project team interviews as appropriate
- Active participation in local professional organizations
CT Home Office Interface
- Close collaboration with CT Interior Design studio to ensure consistent processes and coordinate overall initiatives
