Polk County Public Safety Complex

the story

The Polk County Public Safety Complex, designed by Furr & Wegman Architects, is located on 25 acres of a previously undeveloped site in Jan Phyl Village, Florida. The multiphase project includes four new government buildings, associated parking, roadways and major utility infrastructure construction. Located in the center of the County, the Public Safety Complex provides for a reduction in emergency response times while bringing government functions closer to the public.

Site security measures were incorporated into the design. These features included controlled access points into the site and berms surrounding the buildings to prevent unauthorized vehicular access to the secure facilities.
