INSIGHT

Trinity College wanted to expand their One Constitution Plaza site to accommodate a new Innovation Hub program with state grant funding. The existing corporate office space required a complete gut and creative design to support a common innovation space, liberal arts and digital technology bridge, and a med-tech accelerator.

SOLUTION

The integrated team at SLAM worked with the College to produce an innovative design, while managing a tight budget and schedule. Pre-Construction collaboration during the design phase focused on creative material selection and lead times to meet the fast-tracked schedule.

IMPACT

The Innovation Center will advance initiatives by the city and state to create more innovation-focused businesses in Hartford. The Center serves as the focus for Trinity’s Applied Learning Initiative partnership with local tech companies that provide new innovation, entrepreneurship and business analysis training programs for liberal-arts graduates.

FUN FACTS

“

This project realizes our vision of creating transformative experiences and opportunities through bold new partnerships. We couldn’t have been more impressed with the SLAM team, who worked hand in glove with us to co-design a space that visually connects the liberal arts and a digital future, showcasing our brand in new but recognizable ways. The process itself modeled flexible innovation at its very best.
