SLAM expands master planning services, hires new director

Glastonbury, CT, October 6, 2021 – Michael “Mike” Zuba, an AICP certified professional planner, will serve as the Director of Public Education Master Planning for SLAM (The S/L/A/M Collaborative).  Mike will lead and expand SLAM’s public education master planning practice with an immediate focus on Connecticut and New England, including in our new Providence, Rhode Island office.  The firm’s long-term goals include expansion of public education master planning services nationally. Mike is based in the firm’s Glastonbury, Connecticut office.

SLAM announces new leadership team model for national sports studio

GLASTONBURY, Conn., – September 14, 2021 – SLAM (The S/L/A/M Collaborative) has announced a new leadership team model for the firm’s award-winning sports studio. Marc Clear has been named Sports Practice Leader, Dane Hawthorne has been named Sports Design Leader, Emily Burton will serve as Director of Business Development for Sports + Recreation, and Bobby Carter will continue as the Director of Sport Facilities. Emily and Bobby Carter will support Marc and Dane in the continued growth of the sports market, with an emphasis on building and maintaining client relationships.

One+ years later: Strategic acquisition serves SLAM as model of strength, growth during Covid-19

Glastonbury, Conn., August 10, 2021 – On March 10, 2020, SLAM (The S/L/A/M Collaborative), a national architectural firm, announced the strategic acquisition of five CBRE I Heery architectural design practices, expanding on healthcare, and the addition of sports facilities and justice markets, naming them Heery Design, a SLAM Studio.

Glastonbury, CT., July 21, 2021 – S/L/A/M Construction Services (SLAM CS) is pleased to announce that Nate Bernier, CPE, LEED AP, senior associate and chief estimator, has fulfilled the requirements for Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) designation, as determined by the American Society of Professional Estimators.

Boston, MA, June 28, 2021 – Thomas “Tom” Lam, AIA, LEED AP, has joined SLAM (The S/L/A/M Collaborative) as an associate principal and healthcare practice leader for the firm’s Boston office, overseeing the firm’s healthcare practice from planning and design through construction for clients throughout the Northeast, with a strong focus on greater Boston. Tom and Gabriel “Gabe” Comstock, AIA, senior associate and healthcare designer will team to help build on the current growth of SLAM’s healthcare practice.
